Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a plastic-clad steel pipe with a good adhesive layer in a low temperature range by using jointly ethylene copolymer resins having different melt index values as an adhesive layer to be interposed between a steel pipe and a plastic covering layer.
CONSTITUTION: In a plastic-clad steel pipe consisting of steel pipe, an adhesive layer, and a plastic covering layer in a laminated manner, said adhesive layer is made up of an ethylene copolymer resin mixture (A), consisting of an ethylene copolymer with a melt index value of 0.5W30 and an ethylene copolymer of a melt index value of 130W350 in proportion of 7/1W1/2 by weight, and a tacky resin (B) in an (A)/(B) mixing ratio of 3/7W7/3 by weight. As the tacky resin (B), oil- soluble phenol resins, petroleum resins, terpene resins, rosins, cumarone resin, etc., having a softening point of 50W160°C, are preferable.
