Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a simple structure to make a level comparison with high precision by discriminating the level of a signal applied to a common gate electrode by the potential state of each drain electrode of transistors (TR). CONSTITUTION:In signal level discriminator 30, gate electrodes of N-channel MOSFETQ10-Q14 are connected in common and applied with fixed input VIN, and respective drains serve as output electrodes D1-D5 and are connected to positive power supply VDD via drain resistances R10-R14. Here, threshold voltages VT10-VT14 of TRQ10-Q14 are so set that VT10<VT11<...<VT14. As a result, when voltage VIN<VT10, TRQ10-Q14 are all OFF to generate outputs D1-D5 of ''1'' and when VT10<VIN<VT11, TRQ10 turns ON and the others stay OFF, so that while output D1 is ''0'', the other outputs will be ''1''. Thus, discriminator 30 can draw a five-stage discrimination among signal levels by the output potential state of the input voltage level.
