Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a simple device capable of improving the reliability by connecting plural switches to a humidity sensing ceramics and applying AC current from a DC supply only to the ceramics by selectively opening and closing the switches.
CONSTITUTION: The humidity sensor 2 consists of the humidity sensing ceramics 4, electrodes 6 that are provided to both sides of the ceramics, lead wires 8 that are attached to the electrodes 6 and cantle heater 10. The switches 26W29 are made a bridge connection, the ceramics 4 is put between both nodes 30, 32. The input terminal 34a of the DC amplifier 34 is connected to the node 36, and the other 34b to the node 40 through the DC supply 38. When the switches 26, 29 are simultaneously closed and the ones 27, 28 are simultaneously opened, the current i1 flows and the other one i2 does in the opposite case. Accordingly when the operation is periodically performed, AC current can be applied from the DC supply 38 to the ceramics 4.
