Abstract
PURPOSE: To suppress the deterioration of a catalyst, to continue the reaction for a long term, and to obtain the title compound useful as a propelland or a monomer for a polymer, by bringing perfluoro-1-butene into contact with aluminum or nickel oxide in the presence of oxygen.
CONSTITUTION: Perfluoro-1-butene (P) is brought into contact with aluminum or nickel oxide, in the presence of 0.1W200mol%, preferably 1W50mol%, based on P of oxygen or air with an inert gas, to obtain perfluro-2-butene. The oxygen enables the catalytic activity to continue for 100hrs or longer.
USE: An intermediate for trifluoroacetic acid, etc.
