Abstract
PURPOSE:To quicken the recovery after emergency shunt and to avoid useless power consumption, by providing the output current limit type constant voltage power supply as the emergency shunt power supply for magnetic head, in the magnetic disc unit of linear motor drive system such as electronic computers. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic disc unit with floating magnetic head consists of the magnetic disc 1, magnetic head 7 provided on the carriage 8, linear motor 11, linear motor drive control circuit 15, emergency shunt power supply 16, and selection relay K1 for failure selection. When a failure is taken place, the relay 17 is slected, negative voltage is fed to the coil 14 from the emergence power supply 16, the carriage 8 is drawn backward, and the magnetic head 7 is shunted. In such case, first, the energy in the capacitor C3 of emergence power supply is output and constant current determined with the transistor D1, and resistors R4, R5 is output after that. Thus, useless power consumption is avoided and the recovery of power supply is faster.
