Abstract

PURPOSE: Effective and rapid removal of the desired impurities present in liquid by applying multilayer electrostatic effect to non-polar liquid to be treated.
CONSTITUTION: The particles of impurities in liquid are charged by the application of D.C. voltage, and the particles of the impurities act as the charged particles in liquid. Particles to be pre-removed are accumulated on the filter mediums 5, 6 by coating, and therefore, multilayer electrostatic effect is produced between the filter mediums (5, 6) and the particles of the impurities, and the accumulated body of the particles to be removed is grows rapidly. Namely, when the same kind of the charged particles are accumulated, the central part of each of the charged particles is polarized negatively and the outer part is polarized positively. The outer part is oppositely charged against the charge of the particles so that the floating charged particles are attracted and the accumulated body of the charged particles grows rapidly. Thus, the particles of the impurities are attracted by the filter mediums 5, 6 by the multilayer electrostatic effect, and removed from the liquid.
