PURPOSE:To achieve the elimination of uneven recording without causing any decrease in recording speed by letting discharge conditions for auxiliary electrodes differ with the recording electrodes at the end parts and the recording electrodes at the central part within the recording electrode groups. CONSTITUTION:When the relative positions of a recording electrode group 1 and auxiliary electrodes 3 assume symmetrical form in such a manner that the intermediate of the recording electrode groups T1 and T2 oppose to the center of the auxiliary electrode B1, recording density slightly increases in the position corresponding to the boundary of the recording electrode group and the electrode group. At this time, the diameter phi1 of the stylus electrode position at the end part within the recording electrode group is made smaller than the diameter phi2 of other electrodes. Then, the picture element area at the end part of the recording electrode group becomes smaller than that at the central part and therefore even if the recording density is high, it is made inconspicuous by negating this, whereby the uneven recording density may be eliminated.
