Abstract

PURPOSE:To economically incinerate waste seats and waste tires without causing public nuisance by a method wherein crushed waste seats separated from magnetic materials (e.g., iron pieces) and half-cut waste tires separated from tire wheels are subjected to multi-fuel combustion, and the combustion gases are incinerated in a recombustion chamger. CONSTITUTION:For incinerating waste tires and waste seats of automobiles, first the waste tires are cut into halves, from which tire wheels are removed. Waste seats are crushed and magnetic materials (e.g., iron pieces) are removed therefrom. The combustible materials, i.e. half-cut tires and crushed seats are mixed together, continuously fed to an incinerator, and subjected to multi-fuel combustion. The resulting residual ash is removed, and the combustion gases are fed into a recombustion chamber to be incinerated completely. The exhaust gases from the recombustion chamber are fed into a dust collecting chamber for removing dust, and the exhaust gases containing noxious substances are subjected to alkali washing, to be separated into clean gases and solids.
