Abstract

PURPOSE:To synchronize copying paper with an image on a pbotoreceptor with simple structure, by starting conveyance of the copying paper by action of detecting means for generating conveyance start signals for unmagnification and variable magnification actuated by movement of scanning means. CONSTITUTION:Distance l2 between paper feed switch MS1 for unmagnification and cutter actuation switch MS4 for unmagnification is set equal to distance l1 between paper feed switch MS1 for reduction and cutter switch MS3 for reduction. The time from paper feed to actuation of cutter 2 is l2/V, where V is the scanning speed of the second slider 19, and in reduction (n times) copying, the scanning speed of the second slider 19 is V/n, so the time from paper feed to cutter actuation becomes nl2/V. Therefore, a roll of copying paper is cut at a magnification equal to copying magnification. Since the end of an original image is set so as to accord with the end of copying paper, the copying paper can be synchronized with the image on the photoreceptor only by setting cut length setting knob 22 at the position of the original length.
