Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the deposition amount of a consumable electrode and obtain the weld zone of high quality by generating arc alternately between each non-consumable electrode and between the non-consumable electrodes and base metals at the time of generating arc between the non- consumable electrodes and base metals and melting the consumable electrode being fed to the arc part thereby performing welding.
CONSTITUTION: Welding current flows from nonconsumable electrode 30a to 30b and a consumable electrode 34 is melted by the arc 62 generated between the ends of the both electrodes. This electrode becomes globules 64 which are then dropped onto base metal 12. Next, when the set time lapses, the welding current flows from the base metal 12 to the electrode 30a. Hence, arc 62 is generated between the base metal 12 and electrode 30a and the globules 64 on the base metal 12 are surely melted. At this time, the electrode 30a which has been positive polarity becomes negative polarity of this time and therefore the consumption of the electrode is less. Further, when the set time elapses, the welding current flows from the base material 12 to the electrode 30b. At this time, the globules 64 having been made to deposited metal by the arc 62 generated are melted. Upon lapse of the preset time, original state is resumed. During this repetition, the electrode 34 is fed at a constant speed, and melts to become deposited metal.
