Abstract

PURPOSE:To utilize a system effectively by making it possible to share the transmission system, which is constituted by a set of MODEMs and one transmission line, by switching and by making it possible to transfer data between plural opposite devices. CONSTITUTION:Center devices 6 and 7 of stations A and A opposite to each other and terminal devices 11 and 12 of stations A' and B' ate connected to the transmission system which is constituted by one transmission line 9 and a set of MODEMs 8 and 10 as modulator and demodulator. Switching circuit 8a is connected to the transmission system of opposite devices 6 and 7, and further, switching circuit 10a is connected to the transmission system of devices 6 and 7, so that respective MODEMs 8 and 10 can be shared with plural opposite devices 6 and 7 and devices 11 and 12. Then, a specific code sequence to switch connections of devices 6 and 7 and devices 11 and 12 is assigned to circuits 8a and 10a to control the system so that data transmission between devices 6 and 11 may be inhibited and data can be transmitted between devices 7 and 12 requesting data transmission, thus utilizing the system effectively.
