Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a power amplifier where the distortion rate and efficiency are improved, by making it possible to set the bias of the amplifier according to fluctuation of a signal level independently of the signal frequency. CONSTITUTION:The input signal from terminal 1 is applied to transistors TR9, 10, which constitute a complementary push-pull circuit, through resistances 7 and 8 and is amplified, and after that, this amplified signal not only is applied to load 17 but also sets the base bias of TR9, 10 through full-wave rectifying circuit 2, peak detector 4 having a negative feedback circuit dependent upon resistance 15 and diode 14, and differential amplifier 6. Then, the output signal from emitter resistances 11 and 12 of TR9, 10 is fed back to differential amplifier 6 through differential amplifier 13. The output of peak detector 4 follows the input signal level rapidly due to reduction of the discharging time constant dependent upon the negative feedback circuit of resistance 15 and diode 14 when the input signal is reduced.
