Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a switch from being left ON forgetfully and a fire in succession by automatically turning ON-OFF the power supply of a light source by judging whether a scanner for copying is used or unused, by inputting part of a picture.
CONSTITUTION: A scanner when unused has timing roller 5 projecting toward an original surface side by ΔH. When original read surface 2a mounted on the original surface comes in contact at guide balls 3 to set a read state, roller 5 also comes in contact to push up swing arm 9 against spring 13 toward bracket 11 by ΔH centering on bearing part 2c, and the top surface of photocoupler 10 comes in contact with operator 12a of microswitch 12 and pushes it up to turn switch 12 ON, thereby making a connection to a power supply. Next, when the scanner is lifted from the original surface, spring 13 operates to move roller 5 toward the original by ΔH centering on the bearing part, and consequently operator 12a parts from photocoupler 10 turn switch 12 OFF, thereby making a disconnection from the power supply.
