Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a color with good uniformity without losing a property to be coated and make it possible to carry out the ombre dyeing by carrying out the coloring of an antifogging coating on a substrate in a gas phase by using a vaporizable coloring agent.
CONSTITUTION: A substrate such as a molded plastic, glass product or the like is subjected to coating treatment by a natural or a synthetic hydrophilic resin (e.g. polyol modified melamine, hydrophilic acrylate polymer or the like) to impart the antifogging property. That is, the above described resin is diluted by a solvent and is added by a crosslinking agent, a polymerization initiator, a catalyst, a flow control agent or the like, optionally, a surface active agent and coated on a substrate and treated by heating or the like. This article 4 is suspended in an evacuated vacuum bell jar 2 and, while rotated, contacted with a vaporizable coloring agent (azo type disperse dyestuff or the like) sublimed and vaporized by heating within a container 8 and colored. The ombre dyeing can be carried out by changing the rotating speed of an article 4 and a distance between an article and a container 8.
