Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the effective number of partitions in AD conversion by converting sine and cosine function signals, corresponding to the length of a body to be measured obtained by a detector, into tangent function signals and then by making use of the linearity of an increase and decrease in the signal corresponding to a scale movement direction.
CONSTITUTION: A sine function signal and cosine function signal obtained by a detector are converted into a tangent function signal by function converter 32. Change- over circuit 26 changes a combination of signals, obtained by the detector, over so as to outpt only the tangent function signals of -π/4Wπ/4 in angle. This tangent function signal is supplied to multi-dividing AD converter 34, where it is preset and reset to the desired number of partitions by preset and reset signals from input control circuit 24, divided by the desired number of partitions, and converted into a digital signal, which is supplied to damper circuit 50 to remove increasing and decreasing vibration before being supplied to display part 52.
