Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise efficiency of heat transfer, by constituting a heat pipe by superposing a plurality of blocks consisting of a honeycomb-shaped unit layer having partitions in one direction and a honeycomb-shaped unit layer having partitions formed on the main surface of the former honeycomb-shaped unit layer to extend perpendicularly to the same.
CONSTITUTION: A honeycomb-shaped unit layer constituting a heat pipe is divided into right and left sections. Here, if the left sections of the unit layer is immersed in high-temperature, dilute sulfuric acid whereas the right section is exposed in the atmosphere, the high-temperature dilute sulfuric acid is passed through a second unit layer 2 and heat possessed thereby is transmitted to a first unit layer 1, so thatwork fluid sealed in the first unit layer 1 is evaporated. Then, vapor thus produced is carried to the right of the first unit layer 1 exposed to the atmosphere, where it is cooled and condensed, thus releasing latent heat produced at the time of condensation to the atmosphere. Therefore, it results that heat possessed by the dilute sulfuric acid is given to the atmosphere. On the other hand, since wick in the first unit layer is stuck also to the surface of corrugated thin plate 6 in the unit layer, the passage for recirculating work fluid can be enalarged considerably. Further, the corrugated plate serves to reinforce the first unit layer and also serves as medium for heat transmission in the first unit layer.
