Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve strength and to uniform thickness by a method wherein a poly(N-ethylene trimellitate imide) resin film containing a specified amount of a specified recurring unit is stretched under pressure at a specified temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A poly(N-ethylene trimellitate imide) resin film (PETI resin film) containing more than 80mol% of a recurring unit of formula I or a film comprising a PETI resin film laminated with another resin film, is rolled by pressing rolls at a temperature of 10W120°C. The specific viscosity of the PETI resin is preferably more than 0.25dl/g, more preferably 0.5W1.5dl/g. Stretching of the film is conducted by passing an unstretched film between pressing rolls, or the film is roll- stretched in the same direction as rolling after rolled by pressing rolls. Stretching ratio is preferably 1.07W1.8 or more, more preferably 2W10.
