Abstract

PURPOSE: In purifying and reusing unreacted monomers and/or solvent recovered from the step of polymerizing conjugated dienes in the presence of catalyst, to make it possible to recycle and reuse purified products without lowering of polymerization activity and physical properties of the products, by providing a step of removing the dissolved oxygen.
CONSTITUTION: Unreacted monomers and/or solvents containing a small amount of water-soluble alcohols, recovered from the step of polymerizing conjugated dienes in the presence of a (coordinated) anionic catalyst such as Ziegler catalyst, composed of an organic aluminum compound and titanium tetrahalide, are brought into countercurrent contact with water to separate the water-soluble alcohols and then purified before they are recycled and reused in the polymerization step. Thereby, by providing a step of removing the dissolved oxygen by means of nitrogen fubbling, vacuum deaeration, etc., between said contact step and said purification step, the amount of the dissolved oxygen is decreased the about ≤1ppm, preferably ≤ 0.5ppm, before said purified products are recycled and reused.
