Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to effect a high speed printing without causing any change in qualities of ink and printing materials by a method wherein a UV (ultraviolet rays) of short wave length is projected on a printed surface, thereafter, an intense UV is projected thereon during a short time and the printed ultraviolet curing type ink is dried and cured rapidly.
CONSTITUTION: A printed matter is passed through the first drying chamber 1 and the second drying chamber 2 successively by a belt-conveyor 5 and UV projectings are effected with ultraviolet flourescent lamps 4, 4', 4" and high-pressure mercury lamps 7, 7', 7" equipped with reflecting mirrors 6, 6', 6", 8, 8', 8" respectively. A sensitized polymerization is caused from a surface to inside of the ink at the first drying chamber 1 and whole of the ink is cured uniformly at the second drying chamber 2 by projecting the intense UV during a short time, thereby, the ink is cured perfectly within a short time. Air is blown onto the surface of the ink through air ducts 11, 11' in the second drying chamber 2 and thereby a temperature rise of the ink is prevented.
