Abstract

PURPOSE: To strengthen the fixation of enzyme on an electric collector thereby to improve the activity of an enzyme electrode by using as a carrier the high molecular chemicals which will bridge to become insoluble with a bridging reagent for enzyme fixation.
CONSTITUTION: A buffer solution of both a high molecular chemical, which has an amino or imino radical, such as polyethyleneimine, polyornithine or polyrisin and an enzyme (such as glucose oxidase) is applied to a plate-like electrode, which is prepared by molding carbon powders, followed by the drying process. The aforementioned plate-like electrode processed is dipped in the aqueous solution of a such bridging agent for fixing the enzyme as will bridge the high molecular chemical itself so that the high molecular chemicals bridge. This is used as a carrier so that the enzyme is fixed to produce the enzyme electrode.
