Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the measurement of heat conductivity in the steady flow condition of sample fluid by measuring the heat flowing out to the sample fluid around a cylindrical body from the heated cylindrical body revolving in the sample fluid.
CONSTITUTION: The specified amount of sample fluid 12 is put in a measuring vessel 4 and the inside of a heating surface 1 is made to the specified temperature, after which a drive motor 6 is run to revolve a drive shaft 8 which in turn revolves a drive shaft 14 at the specified rotating speed by way of a belt 17 and the accurate rotating speed is measured with a tachometer 18. Next, fixed electric power is supplied to a cartridge heater 23 and the temperature difference between thermocouple wires 25, 29 is measured. By rotating the cylindrical body in the sample fluid, the steady flow of the sample fluid is obtained and therefore the heat conductivity may be measured from the propagation of heat within the sample fluid.
