Abstract
PURPOSE: To procure comfortable heating with appropriate power by a method wherein a capacity-controllable compressor and a temperature or power input detecting means are arranged, and the control of the compressor capacity is conducted in correspondence with changes in outside air temperature.
CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner consists of an exterior unit 12 and an interior unit 13. The unit 12 comprises first to third compressors 20, 21, 22, four-way valve 2, accumulator 3, heat exchanger 4, blower 5, decompressor 6, and check valve 7; the unit 13 comprises a heat exchanger 10, blower 11, decompressor 8, and check valve 9. Where outside air temperature is a, the compressor 20 is operated, heating power being d and power input being g. With the outside air temperature lowered below a, both heating power and power input decrease according to a characteristic line I. With the outside air temperature further lowered to c, the third compressor 22 is operated in parallel, and heating is conducted according to a characteristic line III. Change-over of the compressor 20, 21, and 22 is conducted through detection of outside air temperature by a temperature sensor 23. By such control, heating power can be increased without use of auxiliary heaters even upon a fall of outside air temperature.
