Abstract

PURPOSE:To protect operator by providing a board member movably up and down on the floor in front of a winder, and lifting said board member from the floor when the bobbin is contacting under rotating conditions with a friction roller. CONSTITUTION:An arm 6 having a friction roller 4 is switched by an actuator 7 to the position where the rotor 4 contacts with the bobbin 3. Board type safety cover 9 is supported by a slider 10 in front of the winder, and provided movably up and down across the position where it is projected from the floor by means of the actuator 13 and the position where it is contained below the floor. During the winding work an arm 6 is raised to drive the bobbin 3 while simultaneously the safety cover 9 lifts to protect the operator. Upon completion of work th operator steps on an foot switch 14 which causes the arm 6 to tilt, thus to actuate a limit switch 16, thereby the actuator 13 functions to lower the safety cover 9.
