Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain good reduced voltage and temperature characteristic and simplify a circuit, by utilizing difference of the temperature coefficient of a transistor or a diode dependent upon a current density to perform temperature compensation.
CONSTITUTION: A circuit is provided which applies the forward voltage of diode Q2 to the base of transistor Q1 grounded through emitter resistance R1 and flows the collector current of Q1WQ2 through the current Miller circuit, which is constituted by transistors Q3 and Q4, and resistance R2. Since the output of this circuit is taken out from the collector of Q4, dV0/dT obtained by differentiating this output V0 by temperature T becomes the sum of the temperature coefficient of Q2 and the difference between temperature coefficients of Q1 and Q2; and since the temperature coefficient of Q1 is larger as a negative coefficient, the temperature coefficient of the sum becomes a positive temperature coefficient, and the temperature coefficient of Q1 becomes a negative temperature coefficient. Consequently, the temperature coefficient of the output voltage can be zero by making resistance ratio R2/R1 equal to the temperature coefficient of the temperature coefficient of Q2/the temperature coefficient of the difference, thus performing temperature compensation.
