Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the title composition which can be deposited under higher voltage and gives a coating film having improved flowability and corrosion resistance, without lowering the stability of the paint, by using a lower molecular weight polyepoxide containing non-ring-opened glycidyl groups.
CONSTITUTION: A composition composed of (A) a cationic resin composed of an addition product of an epoxy compound and an amine, and containing quaternary ammonium salt groups as major cationic elements, e.g. a reaction product of Epicote 1004 (trade name of Shell Ltd.) and dimethylethanolamine, and (B) a polyoxide which is liquid or semi-solid at room temperature, and has one or more unopened glycidyl groups per molecule [pref. a liquid or semi-solid reaction product derived substantially from 2,2-bis(4'-hydroxyphenyl)propane and epichlorohydrin].
