Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify IC-implementation by giving the function of burst emphasis in recording and burst de-emphasis in reproduction in two-hour mode while neither recording nor reproduction is carried out in four-hour mode. CONSTITUTION:Switch circuit 3 puts recording/reproduction mode switching into effect and respective color or reproduced color signals are led to AGC circuit 4 from input terminals 1 and 2. Circuit 4 exercises control so that a burst signal of the best level will be outputted at any time. Burst emphasis circuit 7 emphasizes the burst signal to a chroma signal in two-hour mode but does not lay the emphasis in four- hour mode. Burst de-emphasis circuit 12, on the other hand, suppresses the burst signal in reproduction two-hour mode and never does it in reproduction four-hour mode. Switch circuit 16 selects a signal to burst gate amplifier 17 according to the mode and amplifier 17 extracts only the burst signal from the color signal. Then, 1H-delay line 11 allows only the color signal to pass through and functions to remove a cross-talk component from an adjacent track.
