Abstract

PURPOSE: In the case where a compressor is started after a long-term rest, to prevent liquid compres sion and development of excessive stress and noise by applying a pulse voltage to the coil of a magnet clutch to intermittently start the compressor and then operating the compressor continuously.
CONSTITUTION: Turning on a switch 11 drives a running engine 20. When the temperature detected by a room temperature thermorelay 12 is higher than that set on a temperature setter, the output signals of a pulse generator 13 and the thermorelay 12 causes a logical element 14 to generate an output signal. A magnet clutch 18 is intermittently engaged according to the voltage form generated by the pulse generator circuit 13, so that a compressor 19 is intermittently started, and subjected to continuous operation after a predetermined lapse of time. The liquid refrigerant and the lubricating oil stored in the compressor 19 during a long-term rest are discharged from the compressor during the intermittent starting so that they don't bring about liquid compression.
