Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to correct the faltness of a coil over whole length thereof, by imparting the same function as that of skin-pass roll to a coiling pinch roll installed on the downstream side of a finishing mill, so as to give a specified elongation to a hot rolled strip having been finish-rolled. CONSTITUTION:To a coiler pinch roll 2 installed on the downstream side of a finishing mill is imparted a function of reduction in addn. to the feeding function. Usual rolls are used for the rolls 2, or a soft roll is used for the upper roll 21, and the roll 2 has a variable crown structure which is capable of changing the crown shape by hydraulic press., and a screw down device 4 movable vertically is attached when the usual rolls are used. This reduction process is so adjusted that elongation not smaller than 2% is given to the strip S. The surface shape of the strip S is detected by means of a surface-shape-detecting unit 5 installed on the outlet side of the roll 2, and the signal is fed to a control unit 6, where the measured value inputted from the detector 5 is compared with the set value, and the screw down device 4 is ordered to change reduction according to the deviation.
