Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect grounding failures of a field circuit highly reliably without any contact by connecting the output of the auxiliary armature winding of an AC excitor to a rectifier circuit, and connecting the DC output to a detector winding which is magnetically coupled to a Hall generator. CONSTITUTION:The output of an auxiliary armature winding 23 of an AC excitor in a rotor 2 is connected to the AC input portion of a rectifier 5, other than a field circuit. The negative side of DC output terminals is a connected to the main body of a rotor, and the positive side is connected to the negative side of the field circuit by way of a detector winding 6 and a current limiting resistor 7. The detector winding 6 constitutes an electromagnet and is arranged in a position where it can be magnettically coupled to a Hall generator 8 which is provided on the stator side. The Hall generator 8 generates a Hall-effect voltage in the perpendicular direction with respect to the field formed by the detector winding 7 under the conditions power is supplied from a constant current device 9. The output is connected to a warning device and the like 20 via an amplifier 10. In this constitution, failures of the field circuit can be detected highly reliably without contact.
