Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive brushless rotary electric machine which can detect a ground-fault accident in non-contact manner by providing in parallel auxiliary coil with an armature coil of a rotor and utilizing the rectified output of a voltage generated at the auxiliary coil to detect the ground fault of the field circuit. CONSTITUTION:An AC exciter auxiliary oil 8 is provided in parallel with the armature coil 3 of a rotor 2 faced with a stator 1. The output of the coil 8 is connected to the AC side input terminal of a power control circuit 9 via a protection fuse 10. The negative side terminal at the DC output side of the circuit 9 is grounded to the point /E of the body of the rotor 2, and the positive side terminal is connected to the field circuit 7 via a current limiting resistor 11 and a detecting exciting coil 12. When field circuits 6, 7 cause ground-fault accident, the coil 12 is excited to generate a speed power at the detector 12' magnetically coupled therewith, and a warning device 14 produces an alarm. After the ground fault is detected, the circuit 9 serves to release the ground-fault circuit by the signal from a light emitting device 16.
