Abstract

PURPOSE: To give excellent light-scattering ability and adhesiveness to the surface of metal foil without detrimental effect of adhesive fine particles upon the diffused reflection function, by uniformly applying the adhesive fine particles to the metal foil to such an extent as to obtain a dispersed state in which coalescence of the particles scarcely occurs.
CONSTITUTION: To the surface of metal foil unlined or lined with a synthetic resin film, adhesive fine particles having a medium diameter of 3W50μ are applied to form a coating in which no or extremely little coalescence of the particles occurs. The adhesive fine particles are applied to the metal foil, for example, by brush coating, reverse roll coating and ultrasonic coating. Preferably, the amount of application is adjusted in the range of 3W20g/m2. Amounts outside the above range are not preferable, because amounts below 3g/m2 result in poor adhesiveness, and amounts exceeding 20g/m2 result in more frequent coalescence of the particles.
