Abstract
PURPOSE:To rabble slab by waveform shifting magnetic fields and improve its internal quality by moving plural mutually adjoining electromagnetic induction coils while letting them alternately make contact with and space from the side faces of the slab. CONSTITUTION:Plural electromagnetic induction coils 7 opposedly disposed in the width direction of the slab 3 right under a mold 4 are pressure contacted with and spaced from the slab 3 alternately at a fixed period together with slab guide devices 5. Arrangement is so made that the adjoining electromagnetic induction coils 7 are also alternately energized by this. At the same time, the coils 7 are the electromagnetic induction coils having the windings of linear motor primary coil type which generate shifting electromagnetic fields in the lengthwise direction of the slab guide devices 5. As a result of this, the shifting magnetic fields being applied to the slab 3 of thin frozen crust 3a and whose inside is almost unsolidified are applied to the same region alternately in waveform for a fixed time, whereby the slab 3 is rabbled by the more intricate patterns as compared to conventional methods.
