Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce material loss and reduce the number of welding steps by forming a stepped bar having plural annual notches in required portions from a round bar, pressing the same and forming lugs with the large-diameter parts.
CONSTITUTION: Trapezoidal concentrical annular notches 2 are provided at a fixed spacing to the required portions of a round bar 1 of a required size through rolling or swaging, whereby a stepped bar 3 is formed. This stepped bar 3 is coiled to form a ring body 5 and the butted end parts 4, 4 are welded to themselves. This ring body 5 is forged to form a ring plate 6 of a fixed thickness, wherein the large-diameter parts of the stepped bar 3 protrude 7 in lug-form. The inside and outside circumferential edges of the ring plate 6 are trimmed by a press or the like to form the shaft hole 8 and lugs 7a of the required diameters. Holes 9 are pierced in the required portions of the lugs 7a, whereby the flange 10 with required lugs is completed.
