Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the vacuum contacting properties of a photosensitive printing plate by preheating the plate surface in a noncontact state before or after spreading heat fusion bondable fine powder with a specified particle size range on the plate surface and by heat fusion bonding the powder to the plate surface with a heating roll having a releasable surface. CONSTITUTION:Before or after uniformly spreading 0.005-0.5g/m<2> of developer- soluble heat fusion bondable fine powder such as styrene-butyl acrylate copolymer powder of 0.5-40mu in fixed direction diameter on surface 2 of photosensitive printing plate 1 such as PS plate with powder feeder 3, surface 2 is preheated with far infrared heaters 4. Plate 1 is then passed between heating roll 5 having a releasable surface of Teflon or the like and press roll 6 to fusion bond the powder at contact portion A, and it is carried with roll 7. Thus, vacuum contact work is facilitated in contacting an image film to the plate, and unfavorable influence is prevented from being exerted on the plate.
