Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a range-finder along with miniaturization by positioning one end of an optical fiber cable having a light-emitting diode or the like at the focus of a light transmitting/condensing lens. CONSTITUTION:A fiber cable 4 having a light emitting element 1 such as light emitting diode and laser diode is provided on the printed substrate 8 in a transmission circuit section shield case 9. With such an arrangement, it is possible to position the other end of th cable 4 easily and accurately at the focus of a light transmitting/ condensing lens 2 through a fixture 6 with does not require adjusting mechanism. This allows the modulated light to be transmitted as a parallel flux via the lens 2 without increaseing the space around the fixture 6 as uniformalized in the phase by the cable 4 with a given length. Thus, the range finder can be made simple in the construction and small in the size.
