Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A thioamide derivative of formula I (R1 is H, phenyl, thienyl or naphthyl; R2,3 are H or R1 and R2 or R2 and R3 may together form a ring; A is alkylene; excluding a compound wherein R1 is phenyl, R2,3 are H, A is ethylene, and the bond between 4- and 5-positions is double bond).
EXAMPLE: 6-Phenyl-2-thiocarbamoylmethyl-3(2H)-pyridazinone.
USE: Remedy and preventive for peptic ulcer. Long sustaining activity, low toxicity and high heat-resistance. Also effective to peptic hyperacidity and duodenal ulcer.
PROCESS: The compound I can be prepared by dissolving a nitrile derivative II in a proper inert organic solvent such as an alcohol, acetone, etc., and introducing H2S gas to the solution at room temperature pref. in the presence of a basic catalyst such as piperazine or propylamine.
