PURPOSE:To obtain a small-size and long life enclosed type secondary cell of excellent discharge characteristics by forming a secondary cell consisting of silver oxide as anode, zinc as cathode, and an alkali electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:The insulated gasket 24 is provided to the positive electrode upper case 23 with the negative electrode terminal 21 formed by hermetic sealing, and then the negative electrode current collector 25 is welded to the negative electrode terminal 21. The positive electrode upper case 23 is housed with the cathodic mixture 26, the electrolyte-impregnated material 27, and separator 28, and the anodic mixture 29 and then coupled and welded with the positive electrode lower case 31 at the points 23b and 31a to form an enclosed secondary cell, using zinc as the negative electrode 26, divalent silver oxide as the positive electrode 29, and the anodic mixture 29 whose surface has the silver layer 30 of a thickness of 20-40 microns or more, serving as a current collector and a high-potential-eliminating layer.
