Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate uneven distribution of temperature in the substrate of a recording head caused by local accumulation of heat therein, effectively and by simple means, by providing a heat pipe for the substrate, arranging the same almost in parallel with a line of heat-resistor elements. CONSTITUTION:A heat pipe 5 of the length almost the same as or more than that of a line of heat-resistor elements 3 of a recording head 1 is provided in contact with a substrate 2 of the recording head directly or through the intermediary of a member 6 of excellent heat conductivity (e.g. aluminium alloy block), almost in parallel with the line of heat-resistor elements 3. In case when the pipe 5 is buried in the member 6, 6 a packing member 8 such as silicone is laid between the member 6, 6 to prevent the increase in contact heat resistance. Hereby the heat pipe 5 transmits the heat in the part of high temperature of the substrate 2 rapidly to the part of low temperature of the substrate 2, which results in the elimination of uneven distribution of the temperature along the line of elements 3 of the substrate 2 and equalization thereof.
