Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure a preferable feeling of each driver on a power steering system by forming a discharge-amount drooping characteristic for a pump revolution number so that it is ready for correcting to various situations from its standard characteristic.
CONSTITUTION: To correct a discharge-amount characteristic for a pump revolution number according to a preferable feeling of each driver, a lock nut 13 is loosened, a cylinder element 11 is inserted more deeply into a cylinder bore 17, a lock nut 22 is then loosened, a plug element 19 is moved in the direction in which the cylinder element 11 is extracted from the cylinder bore 17 correspondingly to a pushing amount of the cylinder element 11, and then a compressibility of a compression coil 21 is kept as it was originally. The rate of flow through a variable orifice 23 is increased nearly in the same ratio to each value of differential pressures P1-P2 at an oil inlet and outlet, and a pump revolution number vs. discharge- amount characteristic can be corrected as shown in a curve ml.
