Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep a main fuel from ignition lag and thus to improve fuel property by providing a main/slow system fuel injection device on a distributor type fuel injection pump for diesel engine.
CONSTITUTION: A pump plunger 16 turning and reciprocating is fitted in a plunger barrel 15 of fuel injection pump. Main fuel delivery ports 37, 38, 39 according to cylinder Nos. 2, 3, 4 are formed in the barrel 15 at regular intervals, and the ports 37W39 are connected through to main injection nozzles 6W8 arranged on the top of cylinders 2W4. Slow fuel delivery ports 55W57 according to cylinder Nos. 2W4 are formed further in the barrel 15 at regular intervals, and these ports 55W57 are connected through to slow injection nozzles 9W11 arranged on the side of each cylinder. A slow fuel is injected a little quantity to each cylinder in advance to a main fuel.
