Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the high temp. oxidation and corrosion resistances of a material for a gas turbine, an internal combustion engine, etc. used at high temps. by coating the material surface with a Cr alloy consisting of Ni, Cr, Al and Co.
CONSTITUTION: Since gas turbine parts and an internal combustion engine are always exposed to a highly oxidizing and corrosive hot atmosphere, oxidation and corrosion resistances are required. In order to provide the resistances, by spraying a Cr alloy consisting of Cr 35W45%, Al 3W10%, Co 0W20% and the balance Ni a coated layer is formed. This spray coated layer alloy is of high Cr and contains Al, so a structure in which body-centered cubic system α-phase of high Cr concn. has been deposited in γ-phase matrix is obtd., resulting in a low thermal expansion coefficient. The layer is excellent in thermal fatigue properties, oxidation and corrosion resistances and high temp. ductility.
