Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit the easy supply of ion pump voltage from ground potential portion by supplying high voltage for discharge to ion pump high-resistor alone.
CONSTITUTION: High voltage generated at the upper end of the DC high-voltage generating circuit 22 is supplied to the electron gun 23. The high-resistors 24a and 24b of equal resistance values are connected to each other in parallel, and its higher pressure side is connected to the ion pump cell 25 whose high-pressure power source 26 is connected to the lower pressure side of the high resistor 24a. The voltage- limiting element 27 connected in parallel to the ion pump cell 25 prevents the application of more than a given voltage to the ion pump cell 25.
