Abstract

PURPOSE: To extend the read-in distance with reduced optical loss with a simple unit, by using sharp laser light having light-focusing property and using the hole mirror as the transmission means of passing of laser light and reflection of signal reflection light.
CONSTITUTION: As the light source L', the laser light ϕ' high in light focusing property and producing very fine beam is used, and it passes through the fine hole h of the hole mirror 1' located with a given angle to the light ϕ' and radiated on the scanning mirror 2. Further, the light ϕ' is reflected to search the bar code surface 3, and the reflection light is reflected again with the mirror 2 and radiated at the back of the mirror 1'. Further, the light diffracted on the mirror 1' is fed to the photo electric conversion unit 4 for electric signal conversion. The search of the bar code surface 3 by means of the mirror 2 is made by the scanning drive unit 5, light loss is reduced with a simple reader to extend the read-in distance.
