Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a bridge phenomenon and raise the accuracy of measurement, by providing a powder feeder with double cutting gates to open/close the lower port of a feeding chute to perform three-stages supply.
CONSTITUTION: Double cutting gates 2, 3 are provided to open/close the lower port 1a of a feeding chute 1. The gates are separately supported with shafts at 1c. When both the gates 2, 3 are located away from the lower port 1a, the port serves for great supply. When the first gate 2 is swung to the port by the first fluid pressure cylinder 4, the port takes a larger opening area 8 to serve for medium supply. When the second gate 3 is also swung to the port 1a by the second fluid pressure cylinder 5, the port takes a smaller opening area 9 to serve for low supply. When both the gates 2, 3 are swung further, the port 1a is entirely closed. This results in enabling the smooth supply of a weighed material.
