Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently manufacture an anatase-type titanium dioxide type fibrous substance by calcining titanium dioxide hydrate fiber.
CONSTITUTION: A fibrous substance (K2O≤ about 5wt%, H2O≤ about 55wt% and TiO2 the balance) based on titanium dioxide hydrate fiber formed by acid-treating potassium titanate fiber represented by formula K2O.nTiO2.mH2O (where n is 2W13 and m is 0W6) and having a fiber length to diameter ratio of about 10 or more is heat treated at about 400W1200°C for about 30minW3hr to obtain a fibrous substance based on anatase-type titanium dioxide fiber having a fiber length to diameter ratio of about 10 or more.
