Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain protection from dust by a simple constitution without impeding automatic conveyance of a cassette by opening and closing the cover body of a cassette insertion mouth interlocking with a conveyance member which moves linearly in a fixed direction according to the forward and backward rotations of an electric motor to load and eject the cassette. CONSTITUTION:Through a pinion and rack mechanism, conveyance member 24 reciprocates according to the forward and backward rotations of electric motor 54. A cassette is loaded and ejected by a simple constitution, which uses no spring, etc., with good manipulation without making a noise. When member 24 moves during the loading and ejection of this cassette to release the lock of pin 116 of member 24, cover opening lever 108 is turned through rod 106 to open cover 88 forcibly. At the completion of the loading of the cassette, pin 116 turns lever 110 clockwise to close cover 88. When the cassette is ejected, the cover is similarly opened at need interlocking with the automatic conveyance of the cassette, so that excellent protection from dust can be put into effect without impeding the automatic conveyance of the cassette.
