Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce torque fluctuations by providing an engine output shaft with magnetic means synchronized to attract and repel with the explosion period of an engine driven by a parti of cylinders.
CONSTITUTION: On the output shaft of an engine, six bar magnets 2AW2F are radially arranged and fixed to keep polarities of neighboring ones mutually opposite. Fixed magnets 3AW3C are each shaped into a horseshoe, and the interval between both poles 4 and 5 is accorded with that between rotary magnets 2A and 2B and so forth. Rotary magnets are constructed to face to fixed magnets with either the same or opposite polarities to each other all at the same time. In this construction, a positive torque in the access of opposite poles and a negative torque in the access of the same poles are given to the output shaft, and torque fluctuations of the engine can be reduced by adjusting the revolution phase of a rotary disk 1.
