Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve a detection response speed by converting intermittent load values to electric signals and monitoring them previously and by counting odd-numbered and even-numbered tension load periods alternately and by deciding that break occurs in a sample when the difference between count values exceeds a prescribed limit.
CONSTITUTION: A square wave signal obtained from square wave generation circuit 29 where a load monitor signal is applied is supplied to FF31 as a control input. Counters 23 and 24 are operated alternately by the gate signal of FF31. The square wave signal is applied to gate circuit 30, and high-speed clock pulses are supplied to counters 23 and 24 only when the square wave signal is high-level. Counters 23 and 24 count odd-numbered and even-numbered tension load periods respectively by high-speed clock pulses. Count values of counters 23 and 24 are subjected to subtraction by subtraction circuit 25, and their difference is applied to comparator 26. A difference components value is set to comparator 26 previously; and when the difference above exceeds this value, it is decided that break occurs in the sample, and an output is generated in comparator 26.
