Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve higher speed of retrieval operations by imaging the images from plural film selecting and drawing-out mechanisms as optically normal images on one image pickup tube in the fixed position.
CONSTITUTION: Projecting lens systems 9 are disposed at a 60° spacing and rotating displacements of an angle 1/2 the respective spacings are given to rectangular prisms 14 so that six kinds of rotating angles of 30° × k are provided when the prism 14a is made a reference. As a result, the arbitrary film images in the containing drum 1 are selected by any of the lens systems 9 in the 60° rotated position relations and even if they are selected by any, the parallel luminous fluxed emitting therefrom are rotation-corrected by the prism 14 corresponding to the lens systems 9 and all are made in the same direction through a mirror 15 and are imaged in a fixed position as optically normal images to one image pickup tube 12, from where they are electrically read out as video signals. Hence, if the sheet film including desired frame is rotated up to the position of the closest selecting and drawing-out mechanism 4 and engaged with a conveying lever 6, then the desired one is retrieved rapidly.
