Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a cold rolled steel plate exhibiting an excellent nonaging property and having recrystallization, material and surface properties equivalent to those of rimmed steel and capped steel by restricting Al, Mn, S and N contents of continuous cast material to a specified range. CONSTITUTION:The object steel contains C: 0.02-0.10%, Mn: 0.06-0.20%, Al: 0.005-0.025%, N<=0.0040%, S<=0.025%, Si<=0.03%, P<=0.025%, with Mn, Al and S relating in quantity to meet the condition of 4XAl<1/2>+3.2 (Mn-2X S)<=1 and Mn-1.7XS>=0.05. Continuous casting slab of this material is heated to 1200 deg.C in a heating furnace, hot-rolled at a finish temperature of 870 deg.C to provide 2.5mm plate thickness, and is wound at 600-650 deg.C. The plate is then cold-rolled to a thickness of 0.8mm and is subjected to recrystallization and annealing at a temperature of 550 deg.C or more. This provides a nonaging continuous casting cold- rolled steel plate having an excellent low temperature recrystallization property and surface properties similar to rimmed steel and capped steel.
